Abstract Underwater Seascape
"Kelp Below"

As you can all probably tell by now....I just love the sea. From the age of around five my Dad bought a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) which he would use for scuba diving. For the many years that followed, my whole family would spend almost every weekend in the Summer going down to the south coast where my Dad would launch the RIB and go out diving, water-skiing and just mucking around in the sea. I remember I was so intrigued by his diving stories and would pester him to take me out on the RIB to try a dive (of course I had to wait until I was 12 years old before I was able to eventually give it a try).

I became instantly hooked and absolutely loved it. From then on, I would accompany my Dad on his many diving ventures in the Caribbean. I was so absorbed with the underwater world, the vibrant coral reefs, the variety of tropical fish, the unknown depths....

This passion for the ocean along with the encouragement from my Dad, led me to eventually complete my scuba diving qualifications which I was fortunate enough to do in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

I knew from when I was very young that I wanted to dive in different oceans around the world and I eventually made my dream come true when I took off for a trip of a lifetime.

This adventure took me around the world, diving in some of the best dive sites the world has to offer including The Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia, Greece, The Red Sea and many more.

During my travels, I also became passionate about sailing and so spent most of my time out at sea either in it, on it .... or under it.

I wanted to tell you a little bit about my past to give you an idea to why I initially created the brand Seascapes and Sails and how it all came about.

For those of you who already follow me, you will see that I love creating abstract underwater seascapes which is inspired from my scuba diving adventures.

Well....I am now going to expand on my work and create several themed series to include in the Seascapes and Sails collection.

So over the coming months, I will be sharing with you new artwork which will be catalogued under the following themes:-

· ‘Beneath the Waves’

Atmospheric abstract underwater artwork

· ‘Distant Shores’

Tropical seascapes from far away

‘Beachcomber’

Driftwood seashore artwork (think crabs, lobsters, starfish and seagulls)

· ‘Summer Breeze’

Sea scenes and summer meadows

· ‘Dark Moods’

Storms, lightning and moonlight artwork

I am really looking forward to sharing these new series with you.

I would love to hear from you and perhaps you can let me know what you’d like to see first.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and for following me on this exciting and creative journey.

Luv Samantha Louise X
